I heart Penguin Prison

Am totally in love with this song:

Enjoy this piece of perfect electro pop!

J'adore

I wish my life looked like an Andrew Woffinden picture. I think learning French will totally make this happen. I'm going to get on it. Oh, and obviously more gym. Brilliant. I'll combine the two.

Things that made me happy this week:

  • London - my spiritual home. Literally everyone I love is there.
  • New Mimi Holliday knickers. Gorge.
  • Watching films with boys, even if they make you watch Rocky.

Willy Mason

Last night I had the pleasure of listening to the incredibly talented Willy Mason in the beautiful St Giles Church. It was a truly mesmerising experience. I love Willy's music and to hear it in such an intimate surrounding with fantastic acoustics was a real treat. It was a casual affair with his friends and family thrown into the mix and felt slightly like you were peeking in on some sort of private after dinner entertainment.

In other news I have been mainly obsessing over Twitter and the gym. Two thoroughly healthy obsessions in my opinion.

London bound again tomorrow to meet up with some of the girlies. Can't wait. Just need to decide between Hummingbird or Primrose bakery cupcakes?! Leaning towards Hummingbird if only to see if my homemade interpretation of the Red Velvet cupcakes are anything like the originals!

I heart The XX

This makes me so happy, it's on continuous repeat! Enjoy

Green Yellow Blue

Have been super busy the last couple of weeks or so. I have taken to distracting myself with photography, so I took myself off to the woods to capture the transformation into autumn.

I can see the sea

This was my day people, I know, it was tough. Hung out at the beach enjoying the wonderful feeling of sand between my toes and the seemingly never ending reaches of the sea. My local beach is a little know place called Camber Sands. I kid, I kid, Camber is of course a famous fashion landmark for being the place where Corrine Day photographed THAT iconic editorial of Kate Moss. I love it when it looks like this and there is barely anyone about, I mainly don't bother even leaving my town if it's hot on a weekend as I know I'll be stuck in Camber traffic for hours! Talk about fair-weather friends.

A little reading to catch up on, including i:D, POP, and Vogue, which I cannot believe I have had for a week and only just got around to opening! There is a fantastic article about British fashion designers to celebrate 25 years of LFW with some beautiful portraits to accompany it so if you can get a hold of a copy I suggest you have a read. I have started to feel guilty about how many magazines I buy and only briefly flick through...

I also watched the amazing documentary by Jon Ronson, who I LOVE, on Stanley Kubrick, Stanley Kubrick's Boxes, a remarkable insight. Friends have commented before about my slight tendencies towards OCD and organisation but Kubrick took it to extraordinary lengths. Watch.

Let's get fresh!

September, September, month of milky sunsets and new knitwear. Dreamy. I totally have that back to school feeling, I'm yearning for new pencils and harvest festivals. Ah, to be young and innocent again. This week is all about getting fresh. I'm planning on having a humongous clear out, I may even have a boot sale if I can manage to get out of bed before midday on a Sunday.

Sooo... I went to Bestival this past weekend and it truly was the year of the spectacular! The sun shone, every conceivable type of music played and I have never seen so much metallic clothing in one place before in my life! The weekend was heady mix of blurry cider-induced merriment, sunburn and a little bit of dancing. The site just gets better and better every year and the bohemian, kitsch decor really befits the atmosphere. There is a lot of love there people...

Oooooh, new cameras!

I had an urge. I couldn't resist it. Not having a camera was horrible! I think it made me a little bit crazy because instead of just replacing my camera I bought two cameras. Oops. I had a little outing around the town with my D60 yesterday. Fun times!

Today I am photographing antique furniture to be shipped to America and then tomorrow the seaside awaits, followed by a roast beef with all the trimmings! Next week is Bestival!!! Sooo excited! Outfit planning to follow...

Gypsy Rose Kate

These pictures of Kate Moss are taken from the new issue of V magazine. I think they are divine. I have seen a lot of blah shoots of Kate recently but I Iove, Love, LOVE this one! I am pretty sure I am predisposed to having SAD every year but this editorial actually give me a gooey feeling about the impending autumnal season. It makes me think of long woodland walks and cosy campfires in oversized jumpers... Plus, the fashion is amazing.

Tea for two

Afternoon tea at Liberty = Bliss.

I love it when online purchases arrive, it's like Birthdays! Except there is a hole in my bank account after. I have treated myself to a tartan shirt and a jumper from Kate Moss's new collection for Topshop. It's actually the first time I have bought anything from one of her ranges as it tends to bug me when I see 10 other people wearing the same thing, but hey, I liked it!

I heart Zooey

I have a major girl-crush on Zooey Deschanel and I am super excited to see her in (500) Days Of Summer. She plays pretty and kooky so well... Her style always seems so effortless but at the same time it all works together. Just the right amount of ethereal and whimsy not to be too outrageous but have a quirky individuality.

I recently went to see M Ward and was kind of hoping she would pop up to sing Never Had Nobody Like You with him, but Alas!

These images are from Lula magazine and she is wearing Erin Fetherston.

Outlook: Cloudy

My mood seems to be acutely linked to the changes in weather of late. I think it's having too much time on my hands. I am cheered by the fact that clouds can be beautiful too.

This was the view from my car as I travelled home the other day and I had to get out and capture it. Sometimes it's nice to stop and forget everything and just enjoy natures' little phenomena.

The Recovery

I have been indulging myself for the last couple of days as a farewell to my job, it has involved copious jaegerbombs, 2am sea swims in Brighton and lots of laughter. In the meanwhile I broke my camera, stained my Wildfox with wine, ruined a wonderful Marc Jacobs shoe and almost did irrevocable damage to my favourite tights. But I had a damn fine time doing it. Due to the death of the camera (R.I.P) I have been unable to take a picture of my most favourite current outfit which I wore on one of these evenings of debauchery, so I shall furnish this post with some from the internets...

Yep, I own these Bebaroque bad boys. They are very much a Marmite item. And I bloody love Marmite.

I couldn't resist it in the end...

This post has made me look at quite how much I buy from Asos. Must delete from favourites...

Just look at those tights!

Simply amazing. Miu Miu A/W 09 embellished tights. Nuff said.

I am off to Brighton tonight to see a couple of my beautiful friends. Yesterday was my last day at work and I am going to celebrate with Krafty Kuts at audio. And maybe a trip to Primark...

Swinging from the broken tree...

I have finally discovered the Discovery LP! My boyfriend has been waiving it in my face for about a month now saying I should listen to it and I finally got around to it this week. I adore it. And now I am going to do the cyber equivalent of waiving it in your face. Check out So Insane below...

Doggy delights

I am a total magpie, anything shiny grabs my attention like noones business. Sequins, glitter, precious metals, if it glints in the sunshine, I'm on it. I have a particular pechant for teeny tiny gold necklaces and I have slowly been building my collection. Of course, nothing will beat my name necklace as my ultimate fave but Dogeared comes pretty darn close. I have been collecting these cuties for about 18 months now and I could buy the whole collection up! I lost one last year and I was much more upset than I really should have been. Still am. Makes me well up just thinking about it actually...

22.7.09

I am a Spoiled Brat

Sometimes I like to try and channel that laid back L.A look. I think mainly I am let down by my hair as a glossy mane seems to be a key aspect and I like to wear mine a la Britney mid breakdown and pre head-shaving, i.e, I don't really bother. However, I get by with the clothing and have found no better website for LaLa labels than Spoiled Brat. Thinking waaay ahead to my Bestival wardrobe, Wildfox Couture T's and the CC Skye saftey pin necklace (A-maze) matched with some slashed leggings and and a checked shirt would be my outfit of choice.

Want them all...

Houses not homeware

Spending far too much time looking pretty at homeware, I have just discovered Selettis Daily Aesthetics. Amazing! Top of my list is the milk jug and the cake stand...

If I was a cake, I'd eat myself...

What a lovely weekend. Saturday morning was a blissfull meander around Selfridges Food Hall where I needed no persuasion in the purchase of a couple of Lola's cupcakes, followed by a visit to Liberty. I absolutely adore everything about Liberty, from the fresh Wild at Heart flower stall in the main entrance to afternoon tea in the beautiful ground floor tea room. Much of my delight comes from browsing the accessories floor and the other day was no exception, with the object of my affections being this truly stunning jewellery by Lucy Hutchings.

With another entry on my ever-expanding jewellery wish list noted, I spent the rest of my time indulging in sponge and fondant, reading about how generally wonderful Brandon Flowers is and watching back to back episodes of Gossip Girl.

Up and away!

I am in the process of looking for a new job. Lots of upheaval in the next month or two. However, instead of trawling through the ads to find my dream position I seem to be pouring over a ridiculous amount of design pages finding my dream positioning of bedroom furniture...

These beauties are from the
LivingEtc website. I really like uncluttered and simple rooms with a few focal pieces like some beautiful fabric or a statement chair (one of my life ambitions is to own an Eames chair, materialistic, I know).

I'd pretty much be happy with anything from Graham and Green, especially these amazing Jan Constantine cushions and throws.

My first post!

Well, it's taken a while but I have finally got around to making my blog. I'm hoping this is going to be the cyber equivalent of an inspiration scrapbook for myself as well as something other people may stumble across and take pleasure from. So I guess there there is no better place to start than with a few images of things that float my boat...

Firstly, I am truly obsessed with fashion magazine and books. There are few things better than getting your grubby mitts on a new copy of Lula, finding a quiet spot and delving into the deliciously crisp pages of sartorial treats.

Oooh, they're pretty! Anything pink is fine by me. Anything that smells good is equally fine. And of course, it goes without saying that anything that comes out of Luella or Diptyque is more than fine.

Shoes! I'm definitely a shoe girl. Through and through. Of course, there is a huuuge space for bags in my life, but there is just something about a shoe that makes me go weak at the knees.

So there is a little bit about me to begin with.

xoxo
