Shiny and New

Here are some small things I have aquired recently that make my world a happier, prettier place.

Beautiful Stella McCartney underwear, Fifi Lapin's What Shall I Wear Today, BRITNEY POP, Coziest Gap socks and blue and white floral huggies.

The Sound of Summer

I'm onto my fourth festival in as many weeks and spending every weekend in a field is actually quite exhausting. I've also managed to see a piss poor amount of music considering what was on offer to me due to the lure of many a hospitality area bar. However, I still have Field Day and Standon Calling coming up so I am going to attempt to rectify that situation. One band who I was determined to see at Latitude was Dirty Projectors (and I know it's the title of my last blog post but this song is still the soundtrack to this summer for me and it's phenomenal live). Enjoy Stillness Is The Move...

Stillness Is The Move - Woodland Walks and Hazy Days

Sunny and cold, halfway to summer weather, ish. Time to see what's doing in the woods, feel alive in the biting cold sea breeze (above is Minehead) and replace thick winter layers with possibly over-optimistic thin ones.

I have a super duper holiday planned to Guatemala and Miami in a few weeks which I am frantically planning for. I absoultely cannot wait to feel some foreign sun and experience some totally new cultures. I'm in a whirl of day dreams envisaging exotic jungle scenery and Mayan ruins whilst simutaneously having very shallow thoughts about lazing around watching the beautiful people on South Beach.

The Gentlewoman

I was slightly dubious at first to see The Gentlewoman in my local W H Smith. Canterbury chain stores and exciting new fashion magazines don't exactly go hand in hand. Oh how pleasantly surprised I was to discover that it is AMAZING. Beautiful, chic, interesting and relevant (plus the wonderful Pheobe Philo as it's first cover star) it is everything a modern girl could want for a few hours of fashion escapism.

Damaris

These new additions to my lingerie drawer are soooo dreamy, they're almost too pretty to wear. Almost.

Bag of dreams...

Catching up on blog reading and feeling an affinity with Cocos' Handbag Junk post on Cocos' Tea Party, I have spent a little time thinking about the contents of my dream handbag, my current one is filled mainly with chewing gum wrappers and train tickets, far too many train tickets for my liking actually...

Mulberry Alexa and keyring, Moleskine notebook, Fiji water, YSL Arty ring, Louis Vuitton Sprouse scarf, iPod nano, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Marc by Marc Jacobs watch, Dermalogica climate control lip balm.

Grrr

And yeah, I know this is old now but My Tiger My Timing are playing in my town tomorrow and I just remembered how much I love it... Enjoy!

Ariba!

Due to circumstance beyond my control involving crowbars and rum it has been necessary to frequent the Church Street Hotel in Camberwell. What's not to love about a boutique hotel with extra Latin quirk in SE5? Must remember to have less control of circumstance in future if this is the result. Illicitly smoking out of the window of our lime green room wrapped in a Peruvian blanket, I definitely felt a holiday vibe. Hand painted Mexican tiles adorn the bathrooms while old Havana Club bottles double up as vases, this is quirky boho at it's best.

Monday morning gave way to a gloriously bright, watery sunrise and a lazy plan of visiting the Royal Observatory at Greenwich was executed, followed by Long Island Iced Tea cocktails and prawn stir fry. Bliss.

Karl, I salute you

I am a fickle, fickle human being. I'm going to blame our consumerist society and the abundance of advertising that is thrust in our faces 24hrs a day, even from the most obscure places. It all makes proper, lasting decisions very hard to make (unless tequila is involved). Take tattoos, now, I really like tattoos, I just don't like the permanence of them. Forever is a scary word. Alternatives? Transfer tattoos were cool when I was 7, could they be again in 2010? At Chanel, yes.

Karl Lagerfeld: doing his bit for fickle fashionistas everywhere whilst similtaneously thrusting advertising in our face from the most obscure places. Genius.

You flip flop and I wild out

Snow days = fantasy internet shopping via Cath KidstonGreengate and Heals. Makes me want to give my room a complete overhaul. It's never too early for a spring clean, right?

spring

Claustrophobia soon took hold and I ventured outside but this proved far too trecherous, blah blah blah, I know everyone's blogs include the requisite snow post at the moment. I was just hoping to go to the gym... need my fix of endorphins...

Settled down listening to Devendra Banhart and Britney, the juxtaposition is working well I think.
